Managing stress may involve three types of approaches which include the action-oriented approach, emotionally oriented approach as well as acceptance-oriented approach. Also, such different stress management techniques help in controlling emotional outbursts that are an off-shoot of stress and other techniques may include heavy breathing, music therapy as well as meditation and self-hypnosis.

It was a German psychiatrist named Johannes Schultz who developed autogenic training which is one to the many different stress management techniques in use and which is a relaxation technique in which a person undergoes many sessions that teach the student how to relax his or her limbs, heart as well as breathing and is very useful in combating stress-induced psychosomatic disorders.

Another one of the many different stress management techniques in use is biofeedback in which people are instructed to deliberately cause relaxation response as well as to have power over their usual stress responses from the autonomic nervous system. One may also consider another one of the many different stress management techniques that help a person in identifying hot spots as well as trigger points of stress.
